Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are on their way to the White House, but our work is far from done. The Senate majority hangs in the balance with two runoff races in Georgia on January 5. The outcome of these races will determine whether the Democrats or Mitch McConnell control the U.S. Senate for the first two years of the Biden administration.
We must keep working to make sure Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff win their campaigns against the Republican incumbents. What can you do? Support the Georgia Senate races by donating and volunteering.
Support social justice and pro-democracy groups working on the ground in Georgia by donating to local Black and Brown-led organizations that get out the vote in their communities. Also be sure to follow them and amplify their work on social media. This spreadsheet has donation links and social media handles.
Throughout 2020, Indivisible Colusa County has been a member of Flip the West's Flip Force, a coalition of progressive groups working together to flip the Senate blue. Together with our Flip Force partners, we contacted millions of voters in battleground states.
Now Flip the West is harnessing our collective energy in support of the Georgia Senate races. The runoff election is January 5. We need to get to work now. Here are two ways to take action.
Flip the West is hosting virtual phone banks in support of candidates Warnock and Ossoff. It's easy and FTW will teach you (via Zoom) everything you need to know. Once you're trained, you'll call voters from the comfort of your home using an automated dialing system, which dials for you through your computer. The voter sees a number with a local area code, not your number. Learn more and sign up.
Indivisible Colusa is not currently planning to organize our own postcarding team. But we've got two great options for you:
WHAT ABOUT TEXTING?
Flip the West's text bank for the Georgia runoff races is already at maximum capacity. You can keep an eye on FTW's event feed in case texting opportunities open up.
